28 Years Of Hydro Systems Experience
Canyon Hydro commercial systems are custom
designed and fabricated to customer specifications in the United
States. Deployed worldwide, most of our Commercial systems tie into the local utility grid, although in some cases the
power is produced solely for local consumption. For all systems,
high efficiency and reliable operation receive our highest priority.
Shown below are a few of
Canyon's Commercial systems currently producing power.

Commercial Projects |
The Hystad project is located in the
interior of British Columbia. The identical twin nozzle
Canyon Pelton turbines are designed to operate under a head of
317 meters. The total output is over 7 MW.

Utah State University built this powerhouse to capture the
energy on the river in Logan, Utah. The 300 KW Kaplan turbine
operates under a head of 30 feet and passes 143 cfs.

Canyon Hydro single-nozzle, 900 rpm, 2MW turbine for project in Honduras. The
deflector servo is designed for a full electro-hydraulic
governor. The turbine is shown being prepped for shipping.

The 550KW Twin Lochs project is in
Scotland. The Canyon single nozzle Pelton turbine operates at
750 rpm under a head of 215 meters and a flow rate of 310
liters/second, driving a 550KW synchronous generator.

Canyon Hydro built this small single
nozzle Pelton turbine for the Aspen Snowmass Ski Area. The site
had an existing penstock used for their snowmaking process. The
turbine operates when snowmaking is not required, generating
115KW to offset the ski areas utility demand.

This twin
nozzle Canyon Pelton turbine, designed and built for the City of
Mt. Pleasant, Utah, operates under an effective head of less
than 140 meters and produces over 1200 KW. The Kato generator is
synchronized with Utah Power grid, but can be operated
independently to serve the city.

Larger Canyon
turbines are custom designed and engineered for extended,
uninterrupted generation, utilizing the highest quality in
materials and related components. This Canyon single nozzle 250
KW turbine operates under 260 meters in Northern California.
The US Motors induction generator sends power to the local utility.

Operating
under only 60 meters net head, this 1000 KW twin runner Canyon
Pelton type turbine was custom designed to offer improved
efficiency and greater flow control. Located in Idaho, the
Canyon four nozzle turbine is synchronized with the utility.

Canyon Hydro built this 2mW single
nozzle turbine as one of two for a 4MW Honduran project. Each
turbine passes 0.45 m3/s under a net head of 555
meters. The runner is shown during final assembly.
